The Bogolan of Mali
Bogolan is an emblematic Malian fabric, traditionally made from hand-woven cotton. The fabric is dyed using fermented mud and vegetable dyes, a process that dates back centuries and is deeply rooted in Malian culture. The geometric patterns and symbols used in Bogolan often tell local stories and legends, giving each piece a unique meaning. Bogolan is used for important ceremonies and is considered a symbol of protection and strength.
At S.Keïdgi, every Bogolan piece is a tribute to traditional Malian craftsmanship, bringing a touch of authenticity and character to our modern collections. We use this fabric to create unique garments and accessories that captivate with their cultural aesthetic and artisanal quality.
Our creations sublimated by Bogolan
We transform Bogolan into modern pieces while respecting its traditional motifs, creating garments that honor its heritage.

Raphia Kuba from Congo
Kuba raffia originates from the Kuba kingdom in the Congo, where it has been woven for generations by local artisans. The fabric is made from raffia fibers extracted from palm leaves, which are then dyed and woven by hand to create intricate patterns and rich textures. The process of making Kuba raffia is long and laborious, but the result is a sturdy, elegant fabric prized for its beauty and durability. Kuba raffia patterns are often inspired by nature and ancestral symbols, reflecting the cultural richness of the region.
S.Keïdgi uses Kuba raffia to add an exotic, luxurious dimension to its collections. Each creation is a testament to the exceptional skills of Congolese craftsmen and brings a touch of originality to our garments. This fabric is ideal for special pieces that stand out for their timeless elegance.

We integrate Raphia Kuba into contemporary designs, marrying its unique texture with modern cuts for a bold, sophisticated style.

Kente from Ghana
Kente is a traditional Ghanaian fabric, often associated with royalty and Ghana's rich culture. Made from silk and cotton, each yard of Kente is hand-woven on traditional looms. The patterns and vivid colors of Kente are highly symbolic, each motif having a particular meaning that tells a story or conveys a message. Kente is worn for important celebrations such as weddings, festivals and royal ceremonies, and is considered a symbol of status and cultural pride.
At S.Keïdgi, each Kente garment is a work of art that fuses traditional motifs with contemporary designs, creating a perfect harmony between past and present. Our Kente creations are designed for those who wish to express their individuality with style and originality.

We reimagine Kente by integrating it into modern designs, while preserving its symbolic essence and cultural richness.

Wax
Wax fabric, although closely associated with Africa, has its origins in Indonesia with the batik technique. This method involves applying wax to fabric to create unique, intricate patterns. Later, the Dutch took up and industrialized this technique, producing wax in large quantities and exporting it to Africa. Since then, wax has been widely adopted and transformed by many African cultures, becoming a symbol of creativity and resilience.
Today, wax is known for its vibrant patterns and vivid colors, reflecting a fusion of tradition and innovation. At S.Keïdgi, we use wax to create modern and original pieces, while paying homage to its rich cultural roots. Each wax creation tells a unique story and captures attention with its vivacity and brilliance.

Denim
Denim is a universal and timeless fabric, with its origins in the rugged workwear of the 19th century. Since then, it has become a fashion staple, prized for its durability and versatility. Jeans are made from cotton woven to create a durable fabric, and are often washed or dyed to achieve different effects and styles. Jeans adapt to all trends and can be worn for any occasion, from casual to chic.
At S.Keïdgi, we reinterpret denim by combining it with traditional African fabrics to create innovative and elegant pieces. Our denim creations are designed for those who appreciate the fusion of contemporary and traditional styles, offering unique garments that transcend trends. Denim revisited by S.Keïdgi is both timeless and avant-garde, perfect for expressing your personal style with originality.
